About Me
I started training serious in April of 2007. I weighed about 140 pounds and was not eating healthy at all. I picked up "The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding" and read it cover to cover, twice. I'd always looked up to Arnold as a child. It wasn't until reading that book when I became interested in bodybuilding. To me, even compared to today's bodybuilders, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Franco Columbu had the perfect physique for their heights. Though Arnold was champion I truly believe that if Columbu was stronger, and better proportioned for his height. I've also read "The Bodybuilder's Nutrition Book" by Columbu.

From April 2007 until February 2008 I trained at home in my garage 4-6 days a week. At which point, I joined XSport Fitness in Libertyville, IL weighing 168 lbs at approximately 10% body fat. I love XSport. So much, I recently applied and was hired in a sales position there. So you can find me up there at least 6 days a week. Whether it's working or training, I'll be there.

Though I have always been into martial arts movies, I find myself becoming obsessed with them lately. Muay Thai, Jeet Kune Do, Gung Fu, Krabi Krabong, Ju-Jitsu, Kickboxing just to name a few of the styles I would like to begin learning. One at a time of course. Before I turn 30 I would like to have some experience in all these fighting styles.

For this year I would like to put my flexibility first, and mass second. I hope to gain another 10 pounds of lean mass by the new year. Nothing too drastic, focus more on flexibility and definition while still gaining strength and mass secondly. I would also like to get into Yoga to improve flexibility.

Here For
To meet and interact with other people training to benefit their health, physique, and martial arts abilities.
Favorite Time(s) To Workout
Generally between 3-7pm on weekdays. Earlier on weekends between 11am-3pm.
Favorite Activities
Well, besides my fitness activities, I enjoy cooking, action or comedy movies, working on cars/trucks, building/welding projects, boating, tubing, partying.
Fitness Center Pet Peeves (what/who annoys you at the gym?)
Dudes in the locker room (generally older, hairy, saggy men) who walk around naked like it's perfectly normal. I'm not saying nudity is not allowed, nudity should be kept in front of your locker when changing. Not walking around from one end of the locker room to the other, shaving in front of the sinks with 10 other dudes around you. Is it that hard to throw on a towel? At least make some effort to cover your hairy ass. Everyone there pays for a membership, no one wants to see that.

Teenagers who come in to the gym to hang out. A group of about 4-5 guys or so, coming in and hanging out in the free weight room, taking up space. They all watch each other curling one arm at a time, never workout they're legs. Thinking well noone can see my legs anyway. Chit chatting and laughing and bumping into people who are trying to get a good workout in and just making a nuisance of trying to get a good pump. Dude go to the mall.

Pushy sales staff. I realize that sales people work for commission, I am one. But when people try to sell something to people who obviously have no desire to be that committed to something. Selling Nitric Oxide supplement products to middle aged men looking to cut weight by running on a treadmill for 45 mins, twice a week. Lifting a weight now and then. Be realistic. People will respect people more and come back for repeat business if you shoot them straight and don't try to milk every penny out of them. That's what I truly believe. I'll never push unnecessary products on someone. Be clear with your goals, I'll be honest with which products you can get by with for the best value. If you have questions on other products I'll tell you, to the best of my knowledge, what I know about the product and if I'd recommend it.

Obnoxiously loud dudes at the gym. I'm all for grunting and everything, don't get me wrong. But some guys get ridiculous cause they're crying for attention. Then they'll slam the weights down on the rack. Dude if you can't control the weights, get a spotter or drop the weights. It's not impressive watching someone sloppily do 250 pound snatch with his knees buckling and dropping to the floor from his shoulders.
Favorite Motivational Quotes
Arnold walks up to the counter of Gold's Gym:
Arnold "Can I sign up? I want to start gaining some muscles."

Arnold comparing the "pump" of lifting to sex:
Arnold "The greatest feeling you can get in a gym or the most satisfying feeling you can get in the gym is the pump. Let's say you train your biceps, blood is rushing in to your muscles and that's what we call the pump. Your muscles get a really tight feeling like your skin is going to explode any minute and its really tight and its like someone is blowing air into your muscle and it just blows up and it feels different, it feels fantastic. It's as satisfying to me as cumming is, you know, as in having sex with a woman and cumming. So can you believe how much I am in heaven? I am like getting the feeling of cumming in the gym, I'm getting the feeling of cumming at home, I'm getting the feeling of cumming backstage, when I pump up, when I pose out in front of 5000 people I get the same feeling, so I am cumming day and night. Its terrific, right? So I am in heaven."

onestrongman It would be great if there was store that sold the best supplements at the best prices. I found 6 lbs of EAS protein powder at Costco for $32. In the past I have bought on-line but there is no one place that has consistant low pricing. Most places play the 1 time sale game.

kbulava85 yeah, though i'd say i don't really need the bcass and glutamine cause ON's protein powder has more than enough in 2 scoops. so i stopped taking those. The AEX NO pills stopped working for me too so I stopped taking that, I'm gonna start a new stack soon, one thats not so costly.
