Tone, Tighten and TORCH Your Lower Body

on 4/4/2008 by fitnessgrl | filed in: Endurance
Here is a quick but effective lower body circuit that I use to burn some fat and tone my lower body.

*20 Squats
*24 Alternating Reverse Lunges
*24 Alternating Step Ups with a hop
*20 Jump Squats

Do all exercises, rest 60 seconds and repeat up to 3x.

I like to do a similar circuit of squats, squats to toes, then jump squats, then do some planks, then forward lunges, reverse lunges, jumping alternating lunges, then do more planks. Repeat until burning ;) (usually 2 or 3x)

I know you can do it - I've seen your FitClips! Just start with sets of 10 and add more as you build endurance. Not only will your quads and glutes be burning, but the cardio is most excellent. If the jumping alternating lunges are too much for the knees, you can modify it to a lunge pushoff to high knee (e.g. lunge forward right, push off with the right heel and bring your right knee to your chest then go right back into a lunge forward right; do a set of 10 then alternate sides). Sorry, I don't know the real name for that move, I just know how to do it ;)
