This is a tip I learned from a HUGE bodybuilder about 20 years ago. This guy was 5'10" tall and had the largest pecs I have ever seen. This was a pretty sought after look in he late 80's, when Arnold was the action star everyone was talking about. My sister dated this guy for about 5 years and for some reason people would come up to him non-stop and ask him "How much do you bench?"
His answer was classic! Here is how the conversation would go. The massive guy's name is Russ.
Young Guy: "Hey you are Huge...how much can you bench?"
Russ: "I can bench 135 pounds!"
Young Guy: "No way! You are lying!"
Russ: "YOU DON'T THINK I CAN BENCH PRESS 135 POUNDS!!!!"
Note: He would look completely pissed, which scared the hell out of the person who asked the question...it never failed and made me laugh every time. He was a cool guy so he would begin laughing to let the person know he was kidding. I liked his style, because he never did let others know what he lifted. I worked out with him for a few years and he could bench 405 for 5-6 reps. We had to strip off a lot of weight for my sets!
