i would say both...but definition is what people notice more...when ur bigger people question whether its fat or muscle, when someone is defined thyey are seen as stronger than they might actually be b/c u can see the muscles...if that helps

For me, neither is more important than the other: I'm simply going to train for performance and whatever my body looks like after I get there, then that's what its going to have to look like if I need to perform better. Personally, no one gives a crap at how cut or big you are when you are finishing in the top 10 of a local 5K, they are wondering what the hell you did for your running training....just my experience has taught me that. Same goes for a bunch of other sports out there. No one really cares how big or cut a pro athlete looks like, most want to know what they did to attain such a level of high performance to begin with. Perhaps the big or cut look they have is just a resutl of the training they do.

How I feel in the pants!
by weight... if you mean the number on the scale.... I don't put much faith in it... too many factors go into that "simple" number.
pants size... um... that is closer.
I care if I am healthy and how flabby I am...
I am not a guy... but my answer is definition.

As Definition comes from building up then cutting, I had a college kid one time tell me I was fat at 8.5 % body fat at 192lbs lol, he had rippling Abs and no waistline and absolutely looked flat everywhere else, but I was fat. You have to love the ignorance of youth I told him he needed to get out more. The new style of beach body has been replaced with skin and bones lol I'll take Steve Reeves any day. If you dont have muscle to go along with that flat skinny stomach you look like a joke. Anyone can cut his Bodyfat and show abs I keep trying to tell people LOSE THE FAT YOU HAVE ABS what you dont have is defined definition!

the real answer is both. anyone skinny kid who never works out can look defined, but who seriously wants to look like that? i laugh at those kids who think they are "ripped" because they have a set of abs but dont actually work out. first you build size, then you turn it into definition. i was all the way at 205 lbs at 5-9 1/2 and cut the fat and got ripped. that is the real way youre supposed to do it

I am going to answer by saying definition, but size is important when trying to get the correct porportions and look aesthetic.

Definitely definition! I don't care if I ever get that big or not, but I do want to be able to see all of my muscles.
