I have been drinking protein powder shakes off and on for a little while now and I would just like to know a little more about what the shakes do and when I should use them.
I stopped drinking the shakes for a while because I wasn't going to the gym as often as I thought was necessary to get the ful potential out of the powder. Should I still drink the shakes even when I'm not going to the gym frequently?
I know that it's best to drink a shake immediately after working out, or so I was told, is this true?
Any tips or facts about the topic are greatly appriciated, thanks in advance for answering!

ok. protien powder usually has 25 grams of protien per serving and for best results try to consume 1 gram of protien per pound of bodyweight. protien is the building block for gaining muscle mass when you exercise your tearing muscle tissue and the protien in short term heals it. muscle tissue recovers best while your asleep. its best to consume protien before and after a workout. if your not exercising it still wouldn't hurt to down a shake. every muscle in your body is used daily. you wont see any physical change but its still pretty healthy for you. hope i covered everything, if you have any other questions feel free to ask.
