Well you already know he's going to try to grapple with you and go to the ground game, so what you need to do is throw him off. He's probably expecting you to stand up, so you do that the 1st round, give a copule of inside leg kicks, and some boxing...forget the clinch it will be too early. round 2, come out like you're oging to box again and than come in with a take down he won't know what hit him, and utilize the ground and pound...should be pretty well set after that - i did MMA for a few years and was pretty successful with game planning, not perfect but thats my opinion , i ended up going 14-3

Alright my name is Fernando I am 15 and i just started training mma a year ago. Im going to do my fourth fight in 2 months and i have a 3-0 record. Tha guy im fighting has excellent ground skills and my stand up is my best part. ANyone got any tips on how i can beat the guy cause my coaches tell me to get him in a muai thai clinch but i dont wanna get close enough for him to take me down. Anyone got any tips or ideas?

mir seems like the safe bet, he beat him once relatively easy submission - i'd say 2nd round for lesnar loss of title

gsp and rashad are sick, but im not sold on lesner yet. dont get me wrong he seems to be a decent fighter in the cage, but no take down defense or guard defense on submissions. he dosent have a complete game. i find him very one dimential. saying this i would put money on mir to beat him in their upcoming fight for the belt.
