Don't worry, it doesn't cause cancer or anything, but if you've ever wondered if water has the ability to kill you (other than drowning) it does. I recently came across an article explaining how, although it is extremely rare, water can kill you.
Drinking an overload of water is called water intoxication, or hyper hydration, which dilutes your bodies nutrients and in some cases, results in death. In fact, the article cited a case where a man name Shaun McNamara died from a swollen brain, caused by drinking too much water. The man was only 35 years old and it is a truly tragic story. Apparently, it happens to marathon runners from time to time. And when I say time to time, i mean a very very rare time to time.
So this gives new light to the fact that when nutritionists say that anything can hurt you if not used in moderation, they're right. As for me, I don't see any marathons in my near future.
