Greetings,
This morning's run down at the track was Tabata Interval based, as I needed just a quick spin of the legs to get something done today. My body is a bit worn down from work this week, so I didn't have a whole ton of energy in the tank this morning.
I opted for the following:
2 minute jog to track 2 minute jog on the track
4 minutes of 20s hard, 10s easy x 8
Jog 2 minutes
2 minutes of 20s hard, 10s easy x 4
Walked home for recovery. Followed by a short doggie walk with Spike.
I got approximately 2.5 laps around for the Tabata interval section, and about 1 & 1/4 laps for the 2 minute one. On some 100m sections where it timed out just right for the 20s hard periods, I was trying to obtain my race-paces on those sections.
Had a tough time getting my legs to go, though, as I think I'm just worn out from a steady 3 days at work, where I have been very busy/rushed and on my feet a lot.
I plan on perhaps doing a Sunday morning run at my sister's, or perhaps doing one when I get home on Sunday night. I think my body needs the R&R this weekend with the 4th of July. I may do a short kettlebell power workout on Friday morning as a jumpstart to the day & a little kickstart to the metabolism. I may have to just pick a workout from here: http://kettlebolics.com that's ideal for me. I honestly think KB workouts are the next best thing to running itself, because of their all-around, total body focus they can give you.
'Til next time...
