For those who are struggling to keep up with their beach body, don't think you're the only one with the problem. Even celebrities like Matthew McConaughey, who have no responsibilities other than doing a movie every few years, have trouble sticking to their beach body.
Matthew McConaughey, who is well known for running around on the beach with his shirt off and thinking he's cool, was recently photographed not looking all that great. He seems to have lost his six pack (side note, his hair looks all kinds of messed) and although his body isn't terrible, it's not how it used to be.
Here's a picture of what Matthew McConaughey looks like now:
Here's an older picture of Matthew McConaughey:
So if you're getting all depressed because your belly isn't looking as great as it used to, just know that Matthew McConaughey's having the same problems.
Now we have to find out what Diet and workout Mat... read more

Big Booty Fitness with Kim Kardashian

I’m sure you’re all familiar with the Reality TV star, Kim Kardashian’s butt… And maybe you’ve actually watched her lame show too. For those few who aren’t aware of her existence, she’s a curvy girl with a big butt and shapely hips.
She’s also featured in some risqué videos that got leaked (yes, she joined the Paris Hilton club). Sadly, we can’t share those videos on here, but I’ve seen some clips, and she seemed to be burning some calories throughout the video.
Anyway, recently I came across a blurb regarding her fitness philosophy and I also found a video clip of her working out (PG rated this time).
“I like my shape, but to get rid of cellulite I focus on toning, doing martial arts on a treadmill. And Spanx are my best friend!” – Kim Kardashian according to AOL News.
Now, you might think it was a typo on my part where I say “martial arts on a treadmill” but it really says that if you visit AOL News. So there’s several possibilities... read more

The 300 Workout for Full Body Conditioning
on 5/8/2008

By now everyone has heard of the movie 300, and most strength and conditioning athletes know about The 300 Workout. This is how all those ripped actors in the movie got into such great shape. The 300 Workout is well known as a pretty hardcore conditioning program. Not everyone can complete this workout, and those that do have seriously trained for it before attempting the final challenge.
Most of the actors trained 5 days per week for 8-10 total weeks, while Gerard Butler (the star, King Leonidas) trained for 12 weeks. This is something that anyone reading Project Swole can accomplish, and this is definitely something I can accomplish in 10 weeks. Let’s take a look at the original workout:
The 300 Workout Challenge
* 25 pull-ups
* 50 deadlifts at 135 pounds
* 50 push-ups
* 50 box jumps with a 24-inch box
* 50 “floor wipers” (a core and shoulders exercise at 135 pounds)
* 50 “clean and press” at 36 pounds (a weight-lif... read more

Jessica Biel's Workout Routine
on 3/4/2008

Jessica Biel probably has the best body in Hollywood. Seriously, she is a great role model for women who want to get in shape. Jason Walsh, her personal trainer recently revealed to People Magazine the workout that gives her slim thighs, firm butt, and generally a rocking body!
Were you lucky enough to see Jessica Biel in the movie Blade 3? If you did, you may have seen fitness perfection. Seriously...Jessica looked amazing in that movie. As a side note, Ryan Reynolds got in amazing shape as well. The great thing about Jessica Biel is that she manages to stay in amazing shape without losing her femininity.
So here is a summary of Jessica Biel's Workout (along with my comments)
1) Cardio...for cardio she does interval training. After jogging for 1/2 a mile to warm up, she does a total of 6 sprints with short rests in between. She sprints for two sets of 200 meter sprints, two sets of 150 meter sprints, and two sets of 100 meter sprints.

17-Year Old Boy Suffers Sudden Death from Mixing NO-Xplode and Soda
on 4/1/2008
by
ryan | filed in: Nutrition and Supplements
|
The popular supplement, NO-Xplode is very popular, yet rarely mixed with soda. In fact, many health experts advise against it – and here’s why. Mixing the high energy and extra fizzy supplement can cause too much activity in the stomach (and sometimes intestines) which can overwhelm the body and in very rare cases – cause death.
I was watching the news today and saw a terrible story where a 17-year old boy, from Pittsburgh PA, died due to an extreme reaction of mixing NO-Xplode and Diet Coke. Health experts said that any soda would have caused the reaction and that the “Dietness” of the coke had nothing to do with it. The boy died before he could even make it to the gym. A friend who was walking with him to the nearby gym dialed 911 and the boy was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. It was compared to an allergic reaction – but the doctors said it would not have happened had NO-Xplode not been mixed with the fizzy substance of a soda.

Eating One Meal Per Day to Get Ripped? I Know it Sounds Crazy!
on 3/6/2008

Have you ever heard of the Warrior Diet? It is a diet based around the idea of eating only one meal per day and eating that meal at night. Yeah I know it MUCH different than the advice you normally hear about eating 6 meals per day. Believe it or not it actually works really well.
Here is a link to the Warrior Diet Website to do a bit of exploring. This site is dedicated to selling his book, but it gives you a really good outline of why the diet works.

Won't Eating One Meal a Day Slow Your Metabolism?
I know you have been told that you need to eat every few hours or your metabolism will slow down. This is the whole basis of why people have been telling us for years to eat 6 meals per day. This is almost a fitness "commandment". Here is the deal...what they are finding is that metabolism slows over a period of days or even weeks. Your metabolism will slow if your daily calories are too low over a period of 7-14 days ... read more

How the Big Guy Loses Respect in the Gym
on 1/25/2008
by
ryan

When a big guy walks into the gym, it's almost the environment of a prison yard. The bigger you are, the more respect you have. People aren't judging you based on how hot your girlfriend is, what kind of a car you drive, or how your hair looks... People are thinking one thing and one thing only. Muscle. That's what everyone came to the gym to work on, and if you've got the most, you are the alpha male.
Every gym has a least one or two of these monstrous characters. Some have many, in which case, they become nothing but an average joe anyway. But when these slabs of muscle enter a regular gym, they are respected for their sheer size. For that 40-60 minutes of lifting, they are the kings of the gym. When they ask you for a spot, you're flattered by the fact that he thinks you're strong enough to help if something goes wrong while he's benching 50 million lbs. Then part of you is thinking, what am I going to do if this monster's arms give out for some reason. Regardless, you ... read more

Hilary Duff Workout and Diet Plan from US Weekly
on 7/3/2008
by

Hilary Duff, who's often videotaped by paparazzi when hitting the gym, boasts a healthy diet plan and great workout ethic.
Her every move is captured in a camera lens, which can be stressful if you're having a chubby day. Due to the fame, Hillary became obsessed with getting her body in perfect shape.
Hilary Lost Weight - That's Good Right?
Nope, she got criticized for that too. "Everybody speculates that you're not eating or are doing drugs. You're damned if you do, and you're damned if you don't," claims Duff. She dropped her strict protein and vegetable diet and leveled off to a perfectly mixed diet.
Hilary Duff's Diet
She added fruit to her protein and veggie diet. Here's an example of a typical day...
Breakfast
- Kashi cereal with 2 percent milk. Or, substitute egg whites with feta cheese.
- Latte with 2% milk.
Lunch
- Grilled chicken Caesar Salad mixed with 1 tbsp reduced fat dressing... read more
