LOL Laugh Out Loud !!

LOL Laugh Out Loud !! You never really learn to swear until you learn to drive.
A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory.
If you must choose between two evils, pick the one you've never tried before.
Don't sweat petty things... or pet sweaty things.
A fool and his money are soon partying.
Money can't buy love. But it can rent a very close imitation.
Attempt to get a new car for your spouse -- it'll be a great trade!
Hell hath no fury like the lawyer of a woman scorned.
Bills travel through the mail at twice the speed of checks.
Hard work pays off in the future. Laziness pays off now.
Eagles may soar, but weasels aren't sucked into jet engines.
Borrow money from pessimists -- they don't expect it back.
Half the people you know are below average.
99 percent of lawyers give the rest a bad name.
A conscience is what hurts when all your other parts feel so good.
If at first you don't succeed, th... read more

New $$ Benefits of Biking to Work !!

on 6/24/2009 | filed in: News
New $$ Benefits of Biking to Work !! The federal government just made it easier for you to ride your bike to work.

No, the feds aren’t flattening that monster hill for you. But you’ll see more bicycling and pedestrian paths, thanks to the economic-stimulus package, which sets aside about $800 million for transportation enhancements. For instance, Everett, Wash., a suburb of Seattle, will spend almost $2 million on a project to enhance bicycle and pedestrian travel and safety. More than $3 million in stimulus money will fund a new bicycle and pedestrian path in downtown San Antonio. And Washington, D.C., will spend $3 million in stimulus money to expand its SmartBike program, which lets cyclists pay a $40 annual fee for unlimited use of public bicycles, located in kiosks throughout the city
.
What’s more, the IRS has added a bicycle-commuting reimbursement to the list of qualified transportation benefits for employers this year. If your employer wishes, it can award you $20 per month for costs as... read more

DREAMS ! Wish Fulfillment - No but Sleep has Meaning !!

on 6/16/2009 | filed in: News
DREAMS ! Wish Fulfillment - No but Sleep has Meaning !! Dreams may not be the secret window into the frustrated desires of the unconscious that Sigmund Freud first posited in 1899, but growing evidence suggests that dreams - and, more so, sleep - are powerfully connected to the processing of human emotions.

According to new research presented last week at the annual meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies in Seattle, adequate sleep may underpin our ability to understand complex emotions properly in waking life. "Sleep essentially is resetting the magnetic north of your emotional compass," says Matthew Walker, director of the Sleep and Neuroimaging Lab at the University of California, Berkeley. (See the top 10 scientific discoveries of 2008.)

A recent study by Walker and his colleagues examined how rest - specifically, rapid eye movement (REM) sleep - influences our ability to read emotions in other people's faces. In the small analysis of 36 adults, volunteers were asked to interpret th... read more

Budgeting Ideas !!

on 5/28/2009 | filed in: News
Budgeting Ideas !! We all have our favorite ways to save a few dollars in these difficult times like walking to the store instead of wasting gas when the store is only a few miles away. Perhaps cancelling our land phone line and using our cell all the time.

Tips for successful budgeting

Be realistic. Don't set goals that you know you'll never reach.
Create a budget and stick to it.
Distinguish between wants and needs. Do you want a new car or need a new washing machine?
Record your monthly expenses. Balance your checkbook and write down every transaction, including CheckCard debits and visits to the ATM.
Limit your debt. Pay your credit card balances off on time each month. By paying on time, you'll avoid a late fee. Carry only one major credit card to eliminate the temptation to use another card. Better yet, go shopping with cash only.
Shop wisely. Review Consumer Reports and other publications to avoid making large purchases that are known f... read more
