Weight Loss Motivation

Weight loss motivation usually begins when you have become motivated to improve in other areas of your life. I'm not a psychologist, but I am a human. I know that when I am "messed up" in other areas of my life, it can sometimes be hard to exercise regularly and lose weight or maintain weight. Its also easier to eat those fatty "comfort foods" that pack on the pounds quickly.

I'm guessing you're not too much different from me. Are there other things in your life hindering your motivation to lose weight and burn fat. Some things that limit us are:

1. Fear of setting goals because of fear of failure. According to experts, setting low goals or no goals means you don't have to live up to high expectations.

2. When you have tried everything and nothing has worked, its easier to just give up. Don't give up. Keep trying. All it takes is the right exercise and nutrition program to help you succeed.

Take Your Medicine Balls Home And Play, 1 If you don't regularly use medicine balls in your workouts, you're missing out! Start playing with your medicine balls more!

One of the toughest things for people to understand is that you need to exercise using "your natural motions." No two bodies are exactly alike....that's why you shouldn't exercise exclusively on machines. Machines limit you to "that machine's" pre-determined range of motion.

Any personal trainer worth her or his salt will watch to see what your "natural motions" are and adapt the workouts to you!

Find Your "Exercise Groove" To Keep Going

What do I mean by "exercise groove?" Get to know yourself (emotions) and your body......this is what I mean:

When I train people, it takes alot of energy out of me.....guess what? I still exercise on most days and some of those days "I don't feel like exercising."

Here are some tactics I use:

1. I know when I need to change up my routine. On some days, I will split my workouts into 2 separate workouts, such as weight training during the day and cardio later on.

2. Sometimes, I just need a day off (even on a scheduled workout day).

3. When I'm really dragging, exercising outdoors always does the trick. Actually, my first preference is to exercise outside (especially in 100 degree heat)!

4. Doing something totally different often works for me---such as playing soccer or flag football (by the way, these are 2 of the best cardio workouts).
