So I haven't been on here in months....I haven't done a real workout in months.
My boyfriend of 4 years passed away in Feb. and I have lost all motavtion to do anything with myself.
I know he would want me to be at my best ,but I'm having trouble getting out of bed everyday.
I work 80 hours a week bartending at a very busy new sportsbar- and I've been considering that my workout.
My shoulders and arms are decent when it comes to lifting and stocking beer cases, but my abs are..meh.... and I feel like i"ve lost my drive. Has anyone else gone through the same thing? Any tips on how to get back to normal?
Thankyou,

I've always been a healthy fit person and now I really want to kick it up and get out of this plateau I'm in but I have a few obstacles in my way.
At the moment I live in a hotel with my boyfriend as he gets treatment at Johns Hopkins. Our daily routine can put a damper on how I eat, if I can workout, and what supplement I can afford (since I quit my job to take care of him I'm am broke!) I'm not blaming his diease for this, I'm just finding it challenging to meet my goals in this situation.
It used to be he was hungry all the time and needed high calorie meals to help him heal. So of course I ate the same thing. Now he has just lost his taste and can't swallow tough foods. He's living off of protein shakes and mac n cheese. This is giving me the chance to eat healthlier- though I feel bad he can't eat.
So this is what are days are looking like: (I just added the BSN products today)
7am wake up eat breakfast Atro-phex, cheaters, multi... read more

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello. It gives me the motivation to keep pushing. Didn't make it to the gym today though too many doctor appts. I've been reading everyones comments and advice and now I'm questioning my diet. I eat VERY healthy. just need to know when I'm supposed to eat when a workout comes into play.
9 am Breakfast: a bowl of fiber one cereal with fat free milk and coffee
11:30 am Snack: Powermax bar or 1/2 Muscle Milk (choc mint :)
2pm: 1/2 Muscle Milk
3pm to 4:30pm :Gymtime
4:45pm -Right after gym Muscletech protein powder and dash of tang or hit up Smoothie King
5:30 light snack- soup or salad
7:30 dinner sushi or chicken breast with salad
Basically that's how it works because the boyfriend is hungry so often. I know smaller meals are better but am I waiting long enough before or after a workout?

So I've been looking for a community like this so it's nice to be able to look for support. I'm a 26 year old female who goes to the gym 5 to 6 days a week depending on how the boyfriend is feeling. Our current situation is a rough. We are staying in a hotel room in Maryland so he can get his chemo and radiation treatments at Johns Hopkins for his fourth stage rhabdomyosarcoma. He's a military man so working out has always been important to him and he's still ripped and looking good through all of this. But we bump heads like crazy when it comes to my work outs. I've always loved to get sweaty and hit the gym. He just likes a more muscluar woman figure than I want to create. I want to be leaner and more toned, he wants me to look like a female body builder. So when we workout he always asks me what am I doing today and puts in his 2 cents. I used to follow his workout routine but to me it didn't focus on the fact that men and women are diffent and have different body types that n... read more
