Diet and weightlifting

Diet and weightlifting It is my personal and professional opinion that proper eating habits should start when you are young.  If you bulk up on fatty foods and junk food high in cholesterol and get into the habit of eating that way, it will catch up with you if you become inactive for some reason.  What reason?  Well, an injury might be one.  I've seen weight lifters go from buff to blubber because their diet was not sound from the beginning.  People get the impression that these one time bodybuilders have muscle that is "turning to fat" when what is happening is that their poor diet is just making them fat.  Muscle is separate from fat and they both shrink or grow.  Grow your muscles with tons and TONS of healthy food.  This is a blog, so I do welcome any responses.

Is the vitamin water-soluable or not?

on 4/22/2009 | filed in: Nutrition and Supplements
Water-soluable vitamins can be taken without having a toxic affect.  An example of a water-soluable vitamin is Vitamin C.  You can take high quantities of it and not worry that it will become toxic since excess flushes from your system.

An example of a vitamin/mineral that is not water-soluable (or one that can build up in your system) is calcuim.  Too much can accumulate and lead to a toxic affect on your system, such as calcium deposits.

When taking suppliments you need to make sure you are taking the proper vitamin and mineral combination.  Do your research!

Please, I invite you to add input on your vitamin or mineral of interest.  Is it water-soluable or not?  What do you have to say about it?
