Despite being unpopular to many consumers, San Francisco is moving toward taxing softdrinks with sugar. Considering a 20oz bottle of soda contains 17 tablespoons of sugar, it makes sense to me. I'm sure people will continue to purchase sugar filled sodas despite this. I only hope that the revenue is put squarely where it belongs. Health and wellness programs or to somehow lower insurance costs. The research is there to prove gobs of sugar can lead to certain health conditions, such as diabetes for example. Next time you are asked "regular or diet" maybe you should think twice.
