Slimfast?

on 2/2/2010 | filed in: Personal
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to post this regarding what I eat in the morning to see if anyone had any opinions or concerns since it's been on my mind lately.
Sometimes when I wake up in the morning for school I don't end up having time to sit and eat the breakfast that I normally would (usually oatmeal, whole grain toast or some type of cereal with skim milk and a piece of fruit). So because I don't like skipping a meal for various reasons, I bought a can of the Slimfast meal replacement shakes. I figured since it replaces a meal and is quick and can be taken with me, it's better than skipping breakfast all together. If I eat it, I usually grab like a banana or something to go with it. The label says it has a bunch of vitamins and whatnot and is pretty low in calories and fat. My only concern is that it seems to have quite a bit of sugar.

I've been thinking about doing one of my workouts in the pool to try it out but I don't know of any excercises to do other than doing laps. If anyone knows any excercises or tips for working out in the pool, please share them with me.  Thank you (:... read more

Many people on this site are concerned with fitness, nutrition and their health in general. I personally love reading, and I also love learning about nutrition and how to improve the way I eat in order to maintain a healthy weight and body. I'm sure there are some people on here who also enjoy reading books on nutrition just as much as I do so I thought I'd share my favourite one with everyone.

Tosca Reno is the author of "The Eat Clean Diet" and is also someone who is in amazing shape. She used to be over 200 pounds, but after starting to "eat clean" has lost a lot of weight and looks amazing. In her book she provides alot of very valuable information that may help alot of people attain their current goals. She explains the importance of "eating clean" (and explains what is best to eat) and the importance of excersise. Some of it is very straight forward, while other stuff I had never heard before so I found it very interesting to learn. She also includes some recipes and... read more
