Carina I'm running my first 5K (for Easter Seals) in two weeks. Seeing you run in your profile pic is motivating enough...all I can say is thank goodness I'm not doing a half-marathon! :) What was your time by the way, if you don't mind me asking?

ApolloFit the canton club is awesome! especially if you like something to look at while you workout haha. but there's also brickbodies, lifebridge, and a few others. the best thing to do is just find out which club is the best fit for you instead of the one with the most extras. just shop around if you have the option.

Scott12 That was taken during a half marathon, actually. I think I have some pics from a marathon, but that one is the funniest because it looks like I'm going to cry if I don't get that water.

Scott12 Hey Mitch. In my opinion, which is better depends on a few things. First, the duration of the run. If it's less than an hour, then you're not in danger of depleting your glycogen stores, so there's really no need for the gatorade, water will be fine. Longer than 60 to 90 minutes, though, you should consider either gatorade, or else water and some other source of easily digestible carbs (like an energy bar, energy gel, banana, whatever works for you). Basically, you don't want to do too many runs that go longer than 90 minutes without taking some carbs in, or else you won't be able to perform to your full capacity.

Mitch hey, i saw your post in the marathon runners group, which is better in your opinion? water or gatorade type drinks?
